Serving those who served us: Over the course of time hundreds of volunteers have served by cleaning the 14,000+ headstones out at Chalmette National Cemetery. The cleaning is starting up again with a huge push over the next year to get all 14,000+ headstones looking like new. Whether you are a group of 2 or a group of 80, anyone can help in this effort. Cleaning will begin at 8 am and end at 12pm on each day. All necessary equipment will be provided. Below are the listed dates of the scheduled cleanings for the next year. Please select and schedule you or your group's ideal date, spots are limited. You can schedule a date by applying and stating your date or by emailing grant_fletcher@partner.nps.gov.
