The Volunteers of America Senior Lunch program is very excited to be expanding our Grab n' Go hot meal service at the Chilson Senior Center and we need teams of 2-3 volunteers to help us hand out meals! All meals come to the sites pre-packaged and volunteers bag the meals and pass them out to diners outside the Senior Center. Diners have the option of staying in their cars in a drive-thru fashion, or parking and walking up to get their meals. Shifts are currently available on both Mondays and Tuesdays, recurring weekly. The time commitment is from about 11:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. You would be standing outside for about 30 minutes during this shift, and we ask for a minimum 6-month commitment. This is a great opportunity for a pair of friends or a couple! Eventually this program will transition back to indoor dining, but we're not sure when that will happen. For now, we're just glad to serve people in this way, and help get this important food resource to the community!
