ORGANIZATION: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

W. Kerr Scott Dam and Reservoir is seeking an individual or couple to fill one Interpretive Assistant position at W. Kerr Scott Dam and Reservoir for the 2022 recreation season from April 1 to October 31. The assistant must provide his/her own RV/Travel Trailer and reside on a provided campsite with full hookups inside Volunteer Village during the duration of the season. Amenities include water, electric, sewer, internet access, and laundry facilities located at Volunteer Village.

The assistant will assist the Interpretive Program Ranger in developing and delivering informal and formal interpretive programs to the public at the campgrounds, day use parks, Visitor Assistance Center (VAC), Environmental Education Center (EEC), and off-project venues such as community festivals, YMCA, colleges, RV/boat shows, etc. The assistant will work 25-30 hours per week (25 hours for an individual, 30 shared hours for couples). The assistant must be available to work indoors and outdoors. While most interpretive programs occur on weekends (Friday evening to Sunday evening), some programs may occur during the weekdays. The schedule will be made by the Volunteer Coordinator in coordination with the Interpretive Program Ranger. See duties in DUTIES section.
