Eucharistic Minister Volunteers work with United Hospital Father Mike Monogue and Spiritual Care to visit Catholic patients and administer the Eucharist for those that wish to receive Holy Communion
Time
Shifts are 2 hours and flexible to your schedule.
Training
Eucharistic Minister Volunteers are trained for Eucharistic Ministry at their current parish or by United Hospital Chaplain Father Mike Monogue. Each Eucharistic Minister receives a three year commission to serve as a Eucharistic Minister from Father Mike. This commission is renewed every three years.
After completing onboarding for the United Hospital volunteer program, Eucharistic Minister volunteers are paired with seasoned Eucharistic Minister volunteer and shadows them until they are comfortable to be on their own.
Requirements
- Letter of support (or phone call) from Parish Priest to United Hospital Chaplain Father Mike Monogue
- Online orientation
- Clean background check
- Health clearance screening
- Annual flu shot
