ORGANIZATION: Virginia Mason Franciscan Hospice and Palliative Care

hand on man's shoulder

Franciscan Hospice and Palliative Care provides end-of-life care support to terminal patients and their families. Nurses, bath aides, social workers, doctors, chaplains, and volunteers work as a team to offer hospice patients a holistic approach to their individualized care needs.

Franciscan Hospice Volunteer Services is looking for bilingual individuals who can further help address comfort needs of our diverse hospice families. Hospice patients of different cultures often appreciate someone who can visit with them, read comforting materials, or play music that is culturally familiar. Even if they can speak English, people often revert to their mother tongue as they progress in their disease process.

Common language groups our hospice team serve include German, Korean, Russian, and Spanish. If you are fluent in any of these languages along with English, we invite you to join our hospice team to increase the quality of life and comfort for all of our patients. We provide comprehensive hospice training as well as ongoing support and education.
