If you want to serve your community and you have a compassionate heart especially for those experiencing their last days, then CHI Franciscan Hospice and Palliative Care has a meaningful volunteer experience for you. Our volunteers take time to honor and celebrate people's lives all the way until the end. You can help by listening to a person's life stories or their favorite music. You can sit with them while their family gets a break. You can run errands, make courtesy phone calls, welcome patients and their families at Hospice House, and so much more. Currently seeking volunteers who will read to patients or listen to their life stories and record them either via electronic recorder or by taking notes. Then work with staff to get these stories saved on disc or usb and given to relatives of the patient. (locations in King, Pierce, Kitsap counties, WA state.)
