ORGANIZATION: Virginia Mason Franciscan Hospice and Palliative Care

leaned over thinking

If you want to serve your community and you have a compassionate heart especially for those experiencing their final months of life, then Virginia Mason Franciscan Hospice and Palliative Care has a meaningful volunteer experience for you.

Franciscan Hospice and Palliative Care works together as a team of professionals and volunteers to discover and meet the unique needs of patients at the end of their lives while supporting their families. We provide them with both practical and emotional support. Whether it's a private home, skilled nursing facility, adult family home, or the Franciscan Hospice House, we meet our patients where they are to offer both comfort and companionship.

Our in home patient companion volunteers take time to honor and celebrate people's lives all the way until the end. You can help by listening to a person's life story or their favorite music or book. You can sit with them while their family gets a break. You can run errands, make courtesy phone calls, watch TV with them, and so much more.
