Families to Freedom transports victims of domestic abuse to safety. Distance and time for travel ranges from a ride across Houston (30-60 minutes) to a ride across the region (1-4 hours) to get victims to a domestic violence shelters.

Weekday daytime volunteer drivers are in high demand!

  • You can choose to accept or decline a drive - no pressure!
  • Multiple trips needed daily, sometimes schedule and often short-notice
  • We arrange survivor pick-ups in a safe public place - no home visits!
  • Many of our survivors travel with children - we prepare car seats so you don't have to
  • Drive survivors of domestic violence from a safe pickup place in or around Harris County to a crisis center or to a family home far away
  • Families to Freedom covers all travel costs!

We need volunteers aged 25+ with a good driving record.
