NHQ:SAF - Emergency Communications On-Call Medical Liaison

This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Services to the Armed Forces (SAF) team. This is a remote (volunteer-from-home opportunity).
Support the Service to the Armed Forces (SAF) Hero Care Center (HCC) emergency communication function by enabling and assuring rapid decisions for emergencies affecting service members and their families and to secure a determination as to whether there is a need for the service member to be present.
- When requested by a SAF Communications Center Supervisor, contact appropriate medical professional to verify specific health information regarding a family member of a service person.
- TIMEFRAME: immediately upon receiving the request from SAF to facilitate the process for bringing a service member back from his/her duty station.
- Time-frame to completion: The goal is approximately 4 hours but will vary case to case.
- Work closely with the SAF Hero Care Center system team to document hospital staff interactions and do so in a timely fashion.
All Required
- Licensed unencumbered Medical Professional
- Ability to work well with others
- Commitment to the Red Cross philosophy of Volunteer Service, the Code of Conduct, and the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing utilizing computer systems
- Must have access to cell phone to shift coverage
