ICEA Chess Club (https://intlcea.org/kids-chess-club) is hosting a series of online USCF-rated tournaments during the pandemic, we are looking for a tournament director or tournament coordinator volunteer to help us organize the zoom meeting for the coming ICEA 2021 Annual Scholastic Championship Chess Tournament ( https://intlcea.org/annual-tournament-2021 ).
We are expecting the volunteer is a responsible person and loves play chess, ideally also a USCF member and has some experience of playing chess tournaments and knowing the rules, s/he will be expected to announce the rules at the beginning of the tournament and monitor the zoom meeting during the tournament to prevent cheating and answer any questions from chess players. We will have a short training meeting before the tournament to go through the duties.
Besides hosting online USCF-rated tournaments, we will open up OTB USCF-rated chess tournaments around Culver City, the volunteer opportunity can be extended for that.
The volunteer hours will be counted as community service hours.
