Navidad En El Barrio is an annual event held for residents of LTSC's affordable housing. December 9th will entail setup, December 10th will entail additional setup and the actual event for residents. This event will take place at a residential building. Bilingual Spanish/English speakers are highly encouraged to join us! Please see below for further details and responsibilities:
Friday, December 9th, 2022 3:00PM-6:00 PM - SETUP: 10 Volunteers Needed - SET UP DUTIES
Location: Terasaki Budokan - 249 S. Los Angeles St., Los Angeles, CA 90012
Food Delivery. (4 Volunteers)
- Some heavy lifting
- Unloading food boxes
- Organizing food items
Food Bag Assembly (4 Volunteers)
- Count canned/packaged good
- Calculate items to be placed in 70 bags
- Setup reusable bags
- Fill bags with predetermined # of food items
Signage (2 Volunteers)
- Write/draw signage for event w/ provided messaging

- Setup 2 tables and chairs in the plaza
- Decorate (if decorations provided)
- Move food bags from community room to tables
Toy Station Setup (1-2 Volunteers)
- Some heavy lifting required
- Setup 2 tables and decorate
- Move toy bags to from community room to station
- Organize toys by age/similar items
Photo Area Setup (1-2 Volunteers)
- Setup photo background
- Decorate

Location: Terasaki Budokan - 249 S. Los Angeles St., Los Angeles, CA 90012
Welcome Station (1 Volunteer)
- Monitor front area
- Ensure COVID protocols are followed
- Participant Sign-in
- Direct/guide guests
Food Stations (2-3 Volunteers)
- Hand produce bags to participants
- Direct participants to toy station
Toy Station (2 Volunteers)
- Help children select a toy and hand toy to them
- Oversee traffic control, avoid crowding and manage length of time child is in area
Photo Area (1-2 Volunteers)
- Take photos
- Manage traffic
- Collect email to share photo
Saturday, December 11th, 2022 12:00PM-1:00PM - CLEAN UP
All volunteers who sign up for event will be asked to help clean up.
Break down food station
- Return leftover bags to community room
- Take tables and chairs back to storage
Toy station clean up
- Place remaining toys into bags (keep like items together and label)
Photo Area Cleanup
- Remove photo backdrop
- Remove decorations
Place all trash in bags and help place in dumpsters
