ORGANIZATION: Mclaren Homecare Group - Hospice

McLaren Hospice is seeking dedicated individuals who would like to make a difference in lives of our McLaren Hospice patients that are faced with an advanced illness. Training is provided and medical experience is not necessary.

Services may include:

  • Friendly visits with our hospice patients and/or family
  • Listening to patient reminisce about their past
  • Reading to patient
  • Respite support for caregiver by sitting with patient while family takes a break
  • Meal preparation/light housekeeping
  • Assisting with running errands, letter writing
Additionally, we are looking for volunteers with special talents such as:
  • Trained therapy dogs
  • Musically inclined and would like to share their musical gifts
  • Massage Therapy
  • Interest in clerical/office work

Patients are located in Sterling Heights and throughout the Macomb County and northern Oakland County Areas including Clinton Township, Fraser, St. Clair Shores, Warren, Shelby Twp., Chesterfield, Clarkston, Waterford and Rochester Hills.

Volunteers are the heart of hospice: They provide respite, companionship and support to terminally ill patients and their families. These small token of support are needed and greatly appreciated by patients and their families.
