One Community is a nonprofit all-volunteer sustainability think tank. Our volunteer team fluctuates between 100-200 team members and has included over 1000 volunteers representing more than 60 different countries. We are creating open source sustainability-focused components covering food, energy, housing, education, and more. WHO WE SEEK

We are seeking an exceptional communicator/networker and writer to help research and contact a long list of potential funding sources. This is to help raise an angel-investment sum total of 25-million dollars, so the person applying for this position must have prior experience, tenacity, and creativity to effectively engage the gate keepers and others associated with the people on our list. Applicants also need to be available for at least 10 hours a week of volunteer time and seeking to volunteer for at least a year.

The right person will feel deeply aligned with our mission and be able to communicate its purpose and goals with passion. You will be responsible for identifying and building relationships with potential donor foundations, as well as grant writing, communications, and relationship management. Once appropriate, you will work with the founder of One Community to bring them into conversations to open and close funding opportunities.

SPECIFIC TASKS

• Identify and negotiate new sources of funding
• Write grants and proposals for funding
• Build and maintain a network of fundraising contacts
• Maintain a positive and highly engaged relationship with both existing and potential donors
• Using our existing work, produce content or fundraising material for pitching to specific foundations
• Track information and analytics on our fundraising activity, and use the data to suggest changes to our online presence to support your work more effectively
