Organization description
BOSLab is a small non-profit organization located in Cambridge, MA. Our mission is to make science accessible to everyone in the community. We provide equal opportunities to people with diverse backgrounds to learn, engage, and practice science together. We host various events (classes, talks, hands-on laboratory projects and much more!) to engage all members of the community in scientific discussion and exploration.
Volunteer position description
BOSLab is seeking an accounting professional or motivated accounting student for help with BOSLab's routine accounting and bookkeeping. Duties include various accounting activities such as:
- Adding transactions into QuickBooks
- Helping with bank and PayPal statements reconciliation
- Assisting with year-end financial reports
- Preparing financial reports
- Helping a small non-profit with your expertise!
Requirements
- Basic understanding of financial and accounting principles
- Attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic knowledge of QuickBooks, Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Aptitude for mathematics if student volunteer

The Boston Open Science Laboratory (BOSLab) is a community-built molecular biology lab in Cambridge, MA.
BOSLab, is a non-profit dedicated to making science accessible to everyone. We offer hands-on science courses for teens and adults as well as a molecular biology lab for community driven research and innovation. Our BOSLab Artist-in-Residence program connects artists and designers with scientists and the community.
We are historically one of the first community labs on the planet, previously known as Bosslab. In an area where you can find more biotech companies than anywhere else in the world, providing accessible science - for the community - is essential.
