Main purpose of job:

To work with architects and design engineers to understand the requirements of their initial designs and turn them into accurate and detailed technical drawings in 2D and 3D models. These drawings are used to estimate cost and feasibility of the project.

Department and/or Division: Programs Design & Delivery

Position reports to: Construction Project Manager

Position is responsible for: N/A

• Create detailed engineering drawings to aid in the design and presentation of engineering systems related to the mechanical discipline
• Provide input into the mechanical/piping design related to clean water supply and flow of wastewater
• Undertake multi-discipline design & coordination activities with architects, engineers and other members of the project team

Knowledge, skills, education, and experience

Essential

1. Access to CAD software (any package is suitable although AutoCAD is preferred)
2. Previous experience of designing piping systems within the utilities sector, preferably water systems
3. A committed team player with good communication skills
4. Ability to actively takeinitiativeand help set things up in a start-up environment
5. Ability to actively seek and giveinput in a collaborative team environment
6. Available to volunteer at least 7-10 hours per week

1. Technical knowledge of engineering systems within the mechanical discipline
2. Experience of building design and 2D/3D modelling
