ORGANIZATION: PRESERVATION QUEST

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 3 people are interested

Project Description
Preservation Quest requires a consultant for the development of Jira Software and or Confluence for the use of our research, writing, art, and video teams. You'll be working with our current volunteer Jira Admin in creating workflow, projects, fields, etc. to accommodate these functions.

Directly because of the ongoing impact of the pandemic, and the heavier reliance on remote project management, developing Jira & Confluence has become a crucial requirement for us.

Technical Setup
Our Jira Software, and Confluence Data Center instances are up, running, and fully licensed. Atlassian also provides free licenses to any add-on in their marketplace. We've also implemented basics such as security schemes, groups, and a polished initial proof of concept project that is currently in use.

Why You'd Want to Work With Us

As part of our core values we give agency, and power to every member of our Team by building out something even as humdrum as Jira in a way that lets them know the system is suited to their style, and needs. You're also the expert: not only will PQ accept your plan of action, and talk through it, but will implement it without deviation.

You're the person who has spent thousands of hours honing your skills, and the least PQ can do is honor the expertise, and professionalism you bring to this or any project.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to save every video game. Ever. We don't mean just the games, but the stories of how video games have impacted children, and adults in forms unique to countries like Argentina, Brazil, New Zealand, the US, and the world. They also alleviate pain, suffering, and have the ability to vastly improve the lives of people no matter their race or creed. Take third degree burns for example, a condition so traumatic that "few injuries involve more painful and numerous procedures than severe burns." "I think one kid described it best, '[... the pain is] just white noise.’ He said [while having the dressings on his burns changed.] 'I wasn’t thinking about anything, I was just shooting snowballs.’ " https://tinyurl.com/vrsnowballfight Help us save not only the video games that have had such a profound effect on cultures the world over, but to also use them to bring hope, joy, and relief to people who need it the most.

Description

Founded in mid-2020 we've programs, and projects that span the world:

Venezuela

In not just saving the unique cultural artifacts around electronic mediums, but also giving people the chance to work with PQ to preserve their own culture. Beyond that we're actively using video game preservation to help those around us: Preservation Quest has mentored youth, and given people from around the world the opportunity to develop creative, and technological skills.

In a very real way we do everything we can to truly care in real, and substantial ways.
