Promedica / Heartland Hospice is seeking kind, compassionate, and dependable volunteers to be friendly visitors to our hospice patients. As a hospice volunteer, you will be an important part of the hospice team. As a Friendly Visitor Volunteer, you can provide much-needed companionship and socialization by visiting with patients in their where they live. Activities that our volunteers do include:
- Engaging in friendly conversation
- Reading to the patient
- Playing games
- Sharing hobbies
- Playing music
- Watching TV/Movies with patient
- Helping with light household duties the patient might not be able to do
- Caregiver Relief
- Run Errands
- And Much Much More!!!
We provide training in Hospice philosophy and volunteer duties. Orientation and background check is required. The volunteer will be driving to where the lives. We will work with your schedule!
Volunteers must be 18 years or older to volunteer directly with patients. No previous training or volunteer work required. We are not taking any court ordered community service volunteers at this time. You must have your own reliable vehicle with a valid drivers license and be willing to travel to where patient resides.

Heartland Hospice is recruiting for volunteers to provide friendly visits and caregiver relief/respite sitting for terminally ill patients and their families. We have many ways for volunteers to engage and change the lives of our patients. If you have the heart for it, we welcome your willingness to serve.
