Special Olympics Florida is excited to share this opportunity for volunteer Course Facilitators. The purpose of Athlete Leadership is to empower Special Olympics athletes to develop leadership skills and utilize their voices and abilities in the Special Olympics movement and create inclusive communities around the world.

Special Olympics athletes complete Leadership Skills and Training courses to become an athlete leader. These courses are offered virtually and in-person. They are led by volunteer facilitators.

Volunteer as a Course Facilitator:

Use your professional and personal experience to help Special Olympics athletes become Athlete Leaders by volunteering as a course facilitator.

* Commit to as little as 3 hours

* Flexible scheduling, virtual opportunities

* Special Olympics Florida will provide the course guide, presentation and suggested script

Facilitators are needed for: Introduction to Athlete Leadership, Understanding Leadership, Health Messenger , Athletes as Fundraisers.

Description

Special Olympics Florida provides sports training and Olympic-style competition to more than 60,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and developmental disabilities throughout the state. Special Olympics Florida is a Level I Accredited Program (highest level of accreditation granted by SOI) and is divided into 11 area programs, which cover over 55 counties.
