Be the friendly face and voice greeting guests at Wilder Foundation’s Child Development Center (CDC)! You can welcome visitors and answer phone calls at our front desk, plus complete a variety of administrative tasks to support our team and the children we serve.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook), basic phone abilities, excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills are highly desired. You can have a big impact! Join our incredible team for one or more shifts per week.

Responsibilities include:

  • Review orientation and training materials
  • Answer incoming phone calls, direct inquiries, and make outgoing calls as directed
  • Data entry of information into Microsoft Word or Excel
  • Hands-on organizational projects, such as paper filing or mailings
  • A wide range of administrative and office duties as needed and assigned based upon the volunteer’s specific skills and interests

Qualifications needed:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to interact with and assist people of varying backgrounds, cultures and identities, including race, ethnicity, class, sexual orientation, ability, gender, etc.
  • Have administrative experience and be proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Committed to following all COVID-19 guidelines (masks and daily screenings are required)
  • Highly respectful of confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and multitask
  • Great time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
Time requirements and work site:
  • Total time requirement: Minimum 2-month commitment to this weekly role
  • Day of the week: Monday to Friday options
  • Time of the day: 4-hour shift from 11:30am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday; volunteers may choose one or more shifts per week.
  • Work site: Wilder Foundation’s Child Development Center (911 Lafond Ave., St. Paul, MN 55104)
