Be the friendly face and voice greeting guests at Wilder Foundation’s Child Development Center (CDC)! You can welcome visitors and answer phone calls at our front desk, plus complete a variety of administrative tasks to support our team and the children we serve.

Wilder's CDC is seeking a volunteer to help greet guests and assist with a wide range of special projects such as word processing and data entry, sorting incoming mail, posting outgoing mail, completing paper filing projects, answering phone calls and directing inquiries, and more. Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook), basic phone abilities, excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills are highly desired. You can have a big impact! Join our incredible team for two or more shifts per week.

Responsibilities include:

  • Review orientation and training materials
  • Answer incoming phone calls, direct inquiries, and make outgoing calls as directed
  • Data entry of information into Microsoft Word or Excel
  • Hands-on organizational projects, such as paper filing or mailings
  • A wide range of administrative and office duties as needed and assigned based upon the volunteer’s specific skills and interests

Qualifications needed:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to interact with and assist people of varying backgrounds, cultures and identities, including race, ethnicity, class, sexual orientation, ability, gender, etc.
  • Have administrative experience and be proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Time requirements and work site:
  • Total time requirement: Minimum 2-month commitment to this weekly role
  • Day of the week: Monday to Friday options
  • Time of the day: 4-hour shift from 11:30am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday; volunteers may choose two or more shifts per week.

Description

The Amherst H. Wilder Foundation is a nonprofit health and human services organization that has served the greater Saint Paul, MN area since 1906. Wilder is not a grant-making foundation, but a public charity as defined by section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

The Foundation operates more than 70 programs and services that help children succeed in school, older adults remain independent, troubled youth create healthy futures, and individuals and families maintain long-term housing. Wilder leadership programs work to nurture and build the skills of emerging community leaders and to renew the energy and commitment of experienced leaders. Wilder Research is one of the nation's largest nonprofit research and evaluation centers dedicated to the field of human services.
