VITA provides free income tax preparation assistance to individuals and families with a household income of $60,000 a year or less. Last year, nearly 400 community volunteers helped over 10,000 people save over 2 million dollars in tax preparation fees, and obtain more than 14 million dollars in refunds! Volunteers are key to providing this free service to the community.

Many in our community do not have access to affordable tax preparation services or are unaware of potential tax credits and deductions that they are entitled to receive. VITA Volunteers ensure that all individuals and families claim all of the credits for which they qualify. We are anticipating even more taxpayers filing next year to take advantage of temporarily expanded refundable credits.

Don't want to prepare taxes? You can still help! There are several non-tax volunteer positions including: client greeters, intake specialists, and more!
