Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.
United Way Hands On Greenville creates, organizes, and leads meaningful service projects that positively impact Greenville County.
United Way Hands On Greenville helps individuals, families and corporate and community groups find flexible volunteer opportunities at more than 300 service organizations. Hands On Greenville volunteers are at work every day of the year building community and meeting critical needs in schools, parks, senior homes, food banks, pet shelters, low-income neighborhoods and more. Hands On Greenville has been a strategic partner of United Way of Greenville County since 2005. In January 2010, Hands On Greenville merged with United Way of Greenville County. Both entities share a commitment to link volunteers with rewarding volunteer opportunities, champion volunteerism and civic engagement, and strive to partner with others to understand, identify and respond to the changing needs of our community. Now, as United Way’s volunteer action program, Hands On Greenville will work even harder to be the premier platform for volunteering and community service in Greenville County. Hands On Greenville is an affiliate of Points of Light Institute and Hands On Network organizations across the United States, U.K. and other countries.
