We are looking for you because several of our Agape Healthcare social workers and nurses are asking for items to help with anxiety, pain, and isolation. Research shows tactile stimulation can help to "center" or refocus those in pain, those who are experiencing anxiety or those with dementia.

Sensory quilts, blankets, twiddle muffs and aprons- I can’t express enough how comforting these items are to patients who are in pain or anxious. These can be made a variety of ways and with a variety of items, creativity is endless here. Here are some ideas:

When you have a few done, let me know by email and I can meet you where is most convenient: rrolbin@agape-healthcare.com

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide compassionate and supportive hospice and palliative care, ensuring the comfort and dignity of our patients and family. YOU CAN COUNT ON AGAPE HEALTHCARE. AS PART OF OUR CARE AND SUPPORT SERVICES, WE WILL ALWAYS: *provide superior hospice care to guarantee that our patients experience the greatest level of comfort possible. *help patients and families review all choices for comfort and define their own goals for care. *admit patients as quickly as possible based on physician’s orders and patient and family permission - usually within two hours. * provide ongoing support and education for patients and families, caregivers and other healthcare professionals.

Description

Over 18 years ago, founders Larry Woods and Kim West set out to establish an organization that would create a higher standard for end-of-life care in our community. Both had experienced firsthand the deep impact hospice care can have on people’s lives and wanted to provide that opportunity for our Denver Front Range community.

They set out to build a team of staff who not only are expert in their fields, but passionate about their work. Agape provides strong support and ongoing training, fostering a culture of excellence. Our caring staff goes above and beyond, meeting patients and families where they are and providing for each ones specific needs.

A privately owned, local organization, Agape understands, loves and is invested in our Denver community and has served many thousands of local residents and families with expert whole-person care.
