Seeking a volunteer with a clean driving record to transport guests in a multi-passenger van to appointments and job interviews and also transport food from Center of Hope to the Triage and Low Demand Shelter (Emergency Shelter). You could be a bright spot in a life that is experiencing challenges. Our guests are homeless individuals, and many are trying to make a positive change in their lives. That change could start with you! This opportunity is available Monday through Friday between 9 am and 4 pm. Please go to our volunteer portal at http://bit.ly/SalArmySWFLvolunteerthen scroll down to the middle of the page to the red "Be A Volunteer" button and click it. Once on the landing page for the portal, you will see a 'Fill In An Application' button in the upper right corner, please click it and follow the prompts.

Description

The Salvation Army Fort Myers Area Command includes many locations offering multiple programs and services. Facilities include a residential shelter, Red Shield Community Resource Center, Outreach Centers in Bonita Springs, LaBelle, and Lehigh Acres, a Worship and Administration center. Programs include a comprehensive care program, family shelter, a correctional services program, a food services program which includes evening meals for the homeless and needy, crisis management for those on the verge of homelessness, an Angel Tree outreach ministry to disadvantaged homes in the area, and more. These social service programs help thousands of people each year and are very rewarding to be involved with.
