Farmers Market Gleaning

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: FoodCycle LA

Quick Overview: Help end food waste by collecting donated produce from farmer's market vendors at one of our participating farmers markets across Los Angeles. We are looking for a volunteer or group of volunteers to commit weekly to glean produce from the market. Volunteers will need to be comfortable walking the market and lifting boxes approximately 40lbs. Volunteers must use their personal vehicle to transport food.

COVID-19 is putting even more people at risk of going hungry, with lines at local food banks increasing significantly.
