On-Going Duties:

  1. Update contact information as necessary
    1. Agency Liaison and LODD personnel file
    2. Confirm information yearly, in November
  2. Ensure Holiday and LODD Anniversary card delivery (through TFH assistant/secretary)
  3. Provide other assistance as requested (confer with TFH’s CEO)

Summary:


This is a KEY position for Police and Fire: The Fallen Heroes . A LODD is traumatic for any agency and family involved. In dealing with this type of situation, compassion, tact and diplomacy is required. Every situation will be different requiring our Liaison to be cognizant and sensitive of the changing and evolving dynamics. A background either in Law Enforcement or the Fire Service, or, working with law enforcement and fire personnel, is strongly desirable to establish credibility in this most difficult of times. You will be the face of hope, of faith and service.


Desirable Prerequisites:

  1. Law Enforcement or Fire Service Background (direct / indirect)
  2. Critical Incident Stress Management Training (CISM)
  3. Basic to advance computer skills with programs such as: Word, Excel

Description

Founded in July of 2009 upon the death of four Oakland Police Officers killed on March 21, 2009, from a lone gunman. Since that time we have grown into an organization that provides support and services to the families and agencies of both Law Enforcement and Fire Service that have had a member die in the line of duty while protecting his / her community.
