Vive, a program of Jericho Road Community Health Center, has a 30-year legacy of providing safe refuge.
Vive assists those who wish to make a refugee claim in Canada or who are seeking asylum protection in the United States, by providing safety, shelter, food, and legal help.
Duties: Assist with light housekeeping cleaning tasks throughout the Vive building. Organize cupboards, closets, and storerooms. May include painting and/or yard work.
Who you'll work with: Vive staff members and adult Vive residents
Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age
People with the following skills/experience would be great here: Fluency or proficiency in a language other than English is helpful but not required.
Schedule: Weekday mornings are preferred. Saturday mornings can be accommodated, if scheduled in advance.

Description
In addition to providing excellent medical care, we have developed community development programs seeking to address the needs of those we serve. We offer culturally and linguistically appropriate programming with interpreters of over 24 languages and/or dialects. We actively engage a very diverse staff that represents the individuals we serve in order to form a bridge of trust with Buffalo's many communities. Our current volunteer opportunities are in our Vive program including a collaboration with Literacy Buffalo.Volunteers bring critical energy, skill, time, and resources to Jericho Road. Through meaningful opportunities, we are sharing Jesus’ love in tangible ways, helping our neighbors to overcome the barriers of poverty they face, and participating in mutual transformation.
