Work with the Children’s Specialist at Dayton’s Bluff Library to help create, plan, and prepare a variety of developmentally appropriate activities and projects for children ages 0-12.

If you enjoy arts and crafts, being creative, and working with feathers, foam, felt, glue and other fun things- this is a great volunteer position for you!

You will work closely with the Children’s Specialist and other library staff to help ensure that the library has a variety of engaging and enriching projects for children. Some tasks may include putting together Take & Make kits, creating and prepping crafts, generating ideas for passive programs, and creating displays. You can take on ongoing projects or work on a variety of short-term tasks.

The best candidate for this position is a creative person with enthusiasm for children’s work. Knowledge and understanding of children’s development and interests is a plus. A willingness to learn, teamwork, and good communication skills are necessary qualities for this volunteer position.

We are looking for someone who can work with diverse populations and can be professional, friendly, and welcoming.

Your volunteer hours will work around your schedule, the library’s open hours, and the Children’s Specialist’s work schedule. We ask that you maintain a consistent, dependable, and helpful presence in the library by communicating absences, asking questions when they arise, and being willing to learn.

We look forward to you joining our team as we connect, learn, discover and grow with our community.

We believe that learning is a human right.

To live, adapt, and thrive in a constantly changing world, all people need supportive learning environments and free access to information and ideas from diverse points of view.

The Library is a place for quiet reflection and boisterous activity; for likeness and for difference. It is comfortable, inclusive, and vital to creating healthy, strong communities.
