Position: Volunteer Homework Tutor Location: Arlington Hills, Highland Park, Rice Street, Rondo or Sun Ray - you choose! Time Commitment: One, 1-2 hours a week About the Program: Our Homework Help Program is dedicated to providing academic support to students in our community. We aim to create a positive learning environment where students can thrive and achieve their educational goals. Role and Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to students in various subjects. Assist with homework assignments Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment. Paw Pals - Highland Park Library Do you have a friendly certified pet therapy dog who loves to sit and listen to stories! If so, we are looking for a new "Paw Pal" at our Highland Park Library. This program is for young readers ages 6-12 to gain confidence in their reading abilities. Reading sessions are 15 minutes long, for a total of an hour session. Read Brave: Book Stickering, George Latimer Central Library Read Brave is Saint Paul Public Library’s citywide, intergenerational reading program that connects readers of all ages to one another through one theme and its author, programs, and a call to action. Help us sticker and pack and move books at the George Latimer Central Library that will be given away for free, to students and community members. The Spanish-speaking Library Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring that our Spanish-speaking patrons feel welcome and have access to the wide range of services our library offers. The volunteer will assist patrons by answering questions, providing basic guidance on library resources, and sharing information about library services in Spanish. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about literacy, community outreach, and helping Spanish-speaking communities access the resources they need. Hours: Flexible, based on volunteer availability (Minimum: 2 Hours a week between 1:00-6:00 pm. hours/week]) Qualifications: Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patience and enthusiasm for helping others, particularly individuals with diverse cultural backgrounds. Basic computer skills and the ability to assist patrons with library technologies. Familiarity with library services or a willingness to learn.
