Blood Services Transportation Specialist
Be a hero by delivering life-saving blood donations to local hospitals. Using our mobile app, you’ll enjoy flexible scheduling (on-demand or planned shifts) while ensuring critical supplies like blood and platelets reach patients in need.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport blood products and essential supplies to hospitals and collection sites.
- Use the Red Cross Delivers app for efficient navigation and delivery.
- Collect and return empty boxes to distribution centers.
- Provide feedback and report issues to staff.
- Represent the American Red Cross with professionalism and care.
Time Commitment
- On-Call Only Needs: Volunteer Lounge, Mt. Hope, Baltimore.
- Minimum: 2 shifts/month (3-6 hours each).
Routes Available
Southern MD Hospital Route
- Mondays: 4:45AM-11:30AM
- Thursdays: 5:00AM-10:15AM
Doctors Community & St. Agnes Route
- Mondays: 6:45AM-9:45AM
STAT/ASAP/Empty Box Stand-By Shifts
- M-F: 10:00AM-3:00PM
Mid-Drive Pickups
- Glen Burnie, Rockville, Columbia, White Marsh, Timonium (Weekdays & Alternating Weekends).
- Washington DC, Frederick, Fairfax (Alternating Weekends).

- Flexible hours. The minimum commitment is two shifts per month (any day of the week), each shift being 3-6 hours during daytime hours. Depending on start location. Presently, as of 3/24, the need is greatest between 5am-10am, 7 days per week;
- Willingness to support the Red Cross mission Valid state driver's license and 3 years of licensed driving experience, required Age 18+
