Gentiva Hospice in Springfield (and surrounding area's) is looking for good people who want to volunteer and make a difference in their community. We are looking for volunteers who want to work in our office, or from home doing tuck in phone calls for our patients.

No minimum time commitments required. We can work with your schedule. Most volunteers give an hour of their time 1x per week for this position. We will train you at our Springfield office.

As an office volunteer you can help with copying, filing, creating binders and folders, help with bereavement mailings, work on special projects, and other duties that you feel comfortable doing.

To perform tuck in calls for our patients from your home this would include you spending an hour of your time per week to call our home patients on Wednesdays/Thursdays to make sure they have all that they need, supplies/medications before the upcoming weekend. You would then communicate this to myself or our nursing staff to let them be aware so that our team can make sure the patient has what it is that they need. This is something that we would train you in the office for then you would work on this weekly from your home.

Help make a difference in the lives of terminally ill patients, bring joy and happiness to them, and give back to your community. All are welcome!
