Join us at our annual Kickball Tournament and help us make it a success! The tournament will be held at Long Bridge Park on November 20th. It will be a day filled with friendly competition and entertainment and to ensure everything goes smoothly, we need support!

There will be a live DJ, food, drinks, and the opportunity to expand your network! All proceeds from the tournament will support local families experiencing, homelessness, housing instability, or systemic poverty.

Some volunteer opportunities include set-up crew, helpers, breakdown crew, and more! To see all the volunteer positions available and information on them, you can click this link to sign up: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050b4aa5a829a3fd0-bridges1.

About Bridges To Independence

Location:

3103 9th Road North, Arlington, VA 22201, US

Mission Statement

Bridges to Independence leads individuals and families out of homelessness and into stable, independent futures. We offer a continuum of aid and support for all family members, helping them attain financial security and move forward into self-sufficiency. A private, nonprofit organization, Bridges has been working with and for families experiencing homelessness since 1985, when we were founded as the Arlington-Alexandria Coalition for the Homeless.

Description

In a nutshell, "what we do" is build bridges to independence for homeless families and families at risk of becoming homeless. Our bridges - our services - strengthen these families and provide them with the stability, skills, knowledge, and community networks to become self-sufficient. We offer supports for every family member - adults and children alike. Our short-term goal is to help individual clients right now. Long-term, we aim to break the inter-generational cycle of poverty by preparing today’s struggling kids to be tomorrow’s successful adults. From housing to financial literacy, from tutoring to youth development, from life skills to career counseling, we tailor a continuum of services. Some activities are required, some are optional, and some are just plain fun.
