Seeking Elementary School Classroom Volunteers with strong math skills this fall (Dedham, Walpole)

Norfolk County RSVP is seeking adult volunteers age 55+ with strong math skills to provide one-on-one and small group support Dedham or Walpole Elementary Schools for young learners (grades 3-5) that would benefit from additional support in developing their math skills. A typical time commitment is 1-2 hours per week throughout the school year, ending next June.
RSVP welcomes caring adults with a range of backgrounds, life experiences and expertise who want to make a difference in the lives of children. Whether you have never assisted in a classroom before or are a recently retired teacher, we're interested in talking to you about becoming a Norfolk County RSVP school volunteer this fall.
A CORI background check and interview with one of the RSVP staff is required for all interested school volunteers. Participation in two training and orientation sessions is also required for all new school volunteers in order to facilitate a smooth transition into the classroom.
COVID Requirements: RSVP School volunteers must be fully vaccinated and wear a mask whenever on school premises.
Norfolk County RSVP is funded by the Norfolk County Commissioners and a federal grant from AmeriCorps Seniors to encourage and support community service and volunteerism at a national and local level.

Norfolk County RSVP has volunteer opportunities for people aged 55 & over in 28 cities and towns at over 50 volunteer sites. Volunteer opportunities include mentoring pre-release inmates, tutoring elementary school children, drivers for Veterans, meals on wheels and food pantires, friendly visiting, non-profit support services and many more! N.C. RSVP will find the volunteer opportunity that best fits your interests & schedule and impacts the needs that are most critical to our county's communities. N.C. RSVP provides mileage reimbursement, accident & liability insurance, an invitation to our annual recognition event, monthly newsletters, orientation & training.
