ORGANIZATION: LOOP MINISTRIES

  • 5 people are interested

Loop Ministries is a downtown food pantry. Weekly client food pantry use is documented in Excel every Tuesday and Thursday by current volunteers when the food pantry is open.

The Data Base Manager updates the computer with weekly pantry use for current clients and inputs new client information and pantry use in preparation for the next week’s food pantry. Additionally, at the end of the month, client information for the month is complied for reporting to the Loop Ministries’ Board of Directors and Foodlink who supplies most of our foods.

Once trained, weekly updates can take between 45 to 90 minutes depending on how many regular and new people came to the pantry. Since this requires access to the computer used by the food pantry people, training would be arranged for some time between Friday AM and Monday PM at 111 N Chestnut St, preferably during daylight hours.

At the end of each month further data is complied for the Loop Ministries Board of Directors Report and for input into the Foodlink database. This can add an additional 30 minutes to the weekly update time.

Mission Statement

Loop Ministries is a non-profit organization committed to helping people in and around Rochester's Inner Loop. We stock and organize a food pantry that provides groceries for people in need that is open 2 days a week. We participate in a monthly hot supper provided by Incarnate Word Lutheran Church where we distribute groceries at the end of the meal. We raise money and organize food collections to help us continue to provide these services.

Description

The Loop Ministries Food Pantry is open every Tuesday/Thursday from 10am - 12 noon. We provide bagged groceries to approximately 150 families every month.

Loop Ministries partners with Incarnate Word Lutheran Church which provides a hot supper on the last Saturday of every month. After the meal Loop Ministries provides a bag of groceries to each attendee.

We partner with Heritage Christian Services to transport food, stock our shelves, distribute groceries and provide job skill training to people with developmental disabilities.
