Purpose Statement:
This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) department. This is a remote (volunteer-from-home) position. The Research Associate will provide research support to the Chief Sustainability Officer and the Sr. Director Sustainability & ESG on issues related to climate change, sustainability, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) programs.
Responsibilities:
- At the request of the Chief Sustainability Officer and/or Sr. Director, Sustainability & ESG Programs, conduct subject research and prepare research summaries on topics related to climate change, environmental sustainability, and ESG program.
- Prepare and present briefs on current events and news related to sustainability, climate, and ESG.
- Provide subject matter expertise on sustainability & climate change issues to inform planning and decision-making to sustainability, climate, and ESG initiatives.
- Robust problem-solving skills coupled with process improvement mindset.
- Strong MS Office skills.
- Facility with remote collaboration tools including MS Teams.
Required:
- Knowledge of and experience in sustainability, climate change, and/or ESG programs.
- Excellent demonstrated research and writing capabilities.
- Up to date on the latest developments in sustainability and/or climate change.
- Excellent organization, written and verbal communication, and critical analysis skills.
- Previous experience preparing, presenting, and discussing information and materials at the executive level.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to easily navigate through an organization and build strong relationships.
- Robust problem-solving skills coupled with process improvement mind set.
- Strong MS Office skills.
- Facility with remote collaboration tools including MS Teams.
- 4-year college degree in sustainability, public management, non-profit management, or related area of study or equivalent experience.
Length of Appointment: Minimum 1-year commitment, renewable.
