Safety First! Our need for volunteers is constant and our guidelines reflect the latest CDC safety recommendations and follow the national and local government laws. COVID-19 vaccination is strongly encouraged.

We’re preparing for another extremely busy disaster season, and it’s critical to have a trained, ready volunteer workforce to make sure we can provide relief at a moment’s notice. This year’s wildfire and tornado season is already very active and dangerous because of the severe drought and dry woodlands across the west and the increase in tornados across the midwest. Now is the time to ready and prepare!

Compassionate and committed individuals are needed to support response and sheltering efforts this disaster season. Shelter volunteers support the day-to-day activities within a shelter which may include working in reception, registration, feeding, dormitory, information, or other vital areas within a shelter. Free online training will be provided.

If you can travel outside your local area, a commitment of at least 14 consecutive days to volunteer for 8 or 12 hour shifts is needed (we'll provide travel accommodations). The hours are long, the work is hard, but the experience will change you forever.

Help ensure families don't have to face tough times alone by lifting up the hearts of those who are unexpectedly faced with emergencies. To apply or learn more, visit: https://volunteerconnection.redcross.org/?nd=lead&h=192&p=1357515
