Gotham Food Pantry is a fast-growing nonprofit that needs dedicated individuals skilled in the following activities:
- Community engagement
- Food sourcing
- Transportation of food to community fridges and shelters
- Drivers for food rescues
- Fundraising
- Grant writing
- Web design/software development (BIG NEED...SEE BELOW FOR ADDITIONAL INFO)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Detail oriented, with an interest in building organizational infrastructure
- Comfortable meeting and interacting with new people in person and over email
- Self-starter capable of working with little to no supervision

WEB DEVELOPER OPPORTUNITY
Description: Gotham Food Pantry, a food justice non-profit endeavoring to end food insecurity in New York City, is seeking a web developer to join our web development team. You will be responsible for building and maintaining the next generation of our website, which is currently https://gothamfoodpantry.org. We have not settled on a hosting platform or technology stack, and part of the responsibilities for the role will be to provide a technology recommendation (e.g., WordPress, Wix, etc.). Who will love this job:
- Technologists interested in improving food access and security for underserved populations.
- A creative person who enjoys helping others solve problems.
- A self-motivated team player who manages their own time well.
- Partner with our UX designer to create a new digital experience for gothamfoodpantry.org.
- Provide technical leadership and build a fully functional site that includes payment processing and mailing list / newsletter integration.
- Ensure website responsiveness across devices (i.e. desktop, mobile, tablet).
- Experience creating websites with a website builder (e.g., Wix, WordPress, etc.). Previous coding experience is not needed.

Description
Gotham Food Pantry is a food justice nonprofit that establishes food rescue operations in communities facing high food insecurity, with a focus on low-income public housing complexes throughout New York City. Founded at the onset of COVID-19 to address the unprecedented food insecurity facing New Yorkers, Gotham Food Pantry's initiatives include establishing community fridges, sourcing food for retailers who historically discard their waste, and promoting wellness events that provide opportunities to historically marginalized communities.
