We are looking for an energetic and social media savvy volunteer to take on and lead the social media efforts for our rescue!

You will own:

  1. The creation of a marketing calendar with planned posts/content ideas
  2. Sharing the marketing calendar with others in the group to drum up interest and collaboration on for certain stories and events
  3. Creation and posting of custom content on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok

Time commitment varies, but we are striving for posts to social media approximately a few times a week. Scheduled posts are OK, but responding to comments in a timely manner and hosting occasional live streams is expected.

We look to you for creative ways to post on our three accounts to share stories about the kitties in our rescue and to get the word out about 13th street’s mission. The content posted should be somewhat customized to each specific channel in order to reach a variety of audiences, keep content fresh and take advantage of the unique formats and features of the channels.

You should live near Downtown San Jose or in the South Bay so you can see the kitties and create social media posts, including some live events, for adoptions and other special events.

This position would be ideal for an organized college student or professional who’s a self-starter and willing to donate their time to a nonprofit animal rescue. High school students and minors will not be considered.
