Are you looking for a way to make a meaningful impact? Do you have a passion for education, entrepreneurship, or sustainable farming? If so, Rooted Wisdom Africa needs your help! Rooted Wisdom Africa is a US/Uganda-based nonprofit organization. As we plan for our future, we're seeking diverse and dedicated board members to join us in our mission of empowering Ugandans to become financially self-sufficient.
We're seeking individuals with substantial expertise in:
* Strategic Planning: We aim to develop a comprehensive five-year plan to guide our organization's growth. We seek board members with experience in strategic planning to help us create and implement this roadmap.
* Project and Process Management: By bringing in experts in project management, we aim to establish efficient systems and processes that enhance our operational efficiency and project execution.
* Succession Planning and Staff Development: Board members with a background in succession planning will help ensure the long-term sustainability of our organization by cultivating leadership talent from within.
We believe that diversity of Work, Wisdom, and Wealth is crucial to our success, and we ask that each board member bring at least one of these qualities to the table. Rooted Wisdom Africa, formerly Into Your Hands Africa, is a nonprofit 501©3 tax-exempt organization. We empower children and families in rural Uganda to rise above the constraints of poverty through education and business development.
Description
Rooted Wisdom Africa (RWA) is a US and Uganda-based nonprofit. Through education and entrepreneurship, RWA identifies communities and works with individuals and groups within these areas to achieve financial independence.
Our programs include:
Farmer Field School: The Farmer Field School supports farmers by teaching hands-on environmentally sustainable agricultural techniques using a no-cost or low-cost approach. Once a new lesson is taught, participants demonstrate lessons learned by applying the newly discovered skill at the demonstration site before applying those learnings to their individual farms.
Life Skills Program: helps disadvantaged youth secure brighter futures and economic well-being through educational scholarships, personal and professional development courses, and an income-earning livestock project.
Women's Enterprise Training Program: jump-starts access to economic opportunities for marginalized women living in extreme poverty with little to no formal education, achieved through technical training on creating successful enterprises and skills-based vocational training.
Collegiate Education Training Program: facilitates youth's economic security through vocational education and job placement while helping close critical gaps in community services.
