Feeding hungry families that have been displaced by COVID 19 and extenuating circumstances. Here is Fort Myers many are being sheltered temporarily in local hotels. The Salvation Army is preparing food for them daily and the food must be delivered to the hotels. This takes place every day from 3:30 pm to 7 pm. Description

The Salvation Army of Lee, Hendry and Glades Counties includes many locations offering multiple programs and services. Facilities include a 182 bed residential shelter, Outreach Services Center and Crisis Management, the Crossroads Center for residential substance abuse porgram, Outreach Centers in Bonita Springs ,LaBelle, Moorehaven, Clewiston and Lehigh Acres, a Worship and Administration center and transitional housing for graduate clients. Programs include a comprehensive care program, family shelter, the Crossroads faith-based substance abuse program, a medical respite unit and primary care clinic for the homeless and uninsured, a correctional services program, a food services program which includes evening meals for the homeless and needy, crisis management for those on the verge of homelessness, a Christmas Cheer outreach ministry to disadvantaged homes in the area, summer camps and more. These social service programs help thousands of people each year and are very rewarding to be involved with.
