The Volunteer Coordinator is a great way to meet new people and connect them into needed roles within the chapter! The central duties of this role include responding promptly to volunteer requests; finding suitable roles for new volunteers based on chapter needs; attending monthly board meetings to understand chapter volunteer needs; maintaining a database of existing volunteers; and occasionally recruiting new volunteers from the existing volunteer pool, as well as via email blast and websites like VolunteerMatch, Taproot, etc.

Volunteer will be given formal training about NAMI and its programs, and will report to the chapter's Operations Manager.

The responsibilities of the position can be done remotely during the COVID pandemic, and you'll have access to a Zoom account to conduct meetings. But eventually, the Coordinator would need to be able to transition to in-person when completing the duties of the role.

Due to the importance of the role for our chapter, the nature of the duties involved, and the brief orientation to be completed, we are looking for someone who is able to make a long-term commitment to the role, rather than only staying in it for a few months.
