In order to help build awareness of NAMI Glendale in underserved communities throughout our service area, the Literature Distribution Coordinator will work with the Operations Manager to identify locations throughout our chapter's territory--and especially within East Los Angeles and Hollywood--to regularly drop off NAMI Glendale literature. Once these locations have been identified, you and a small team of volunteers will drop off our chapter's welcome materials, NAMI program brochures, flyers for upcoming events, and/or mental health information brochures as needed.
The Literature Distribution Coordinator will also be responsible for: creating and manage a drop-off schedule; coordinating with other volunteers to drop this literature off on a regular basis; and monitoring literature supply levels in our storage space.
Volunteer will receive mileage reimbursement at the State of California's current rate ($0.56/mile).
The responsibilities of the position can be done remotely during the COVID pandemic, and you'll have access to a Zoom account to conduct meetings. But eventually, the Coordinator would need to be able to transition to in-person when completing the duties of the role.
Due to the importance of the role for our chapter, the nature of the duties involved, and the brief orientation to be completed, we are looking for someone who is able to make a long-term commitment to the role, rather than only staying in it for a few months.

NAMI Glendale proudly serves Northeast Los Angeles by providing free education, advocacy, support, and leadership opportunities to anyone whose life has been effected by mental illness.
- We educate. NAMI Glendale offers education courses for both those living with a diagnosis (Peer-to-Peer) and those who have a loved one with a diagnosis (Family-to-Family, Familia-a-Familia, and Basics): NAMIGlendale.org/Classes

- We lead. NAMI Glendale engages in community public awareness events and activities in order to fight stigma, encourage understanding, and spread the word about mental health.
