Our Dolly Drive fundraiser is a fun evening outside at the Detroit Shipping Company. Guests will enjoy drinks, yard games, a photo booth, wine pull, short informational program, and heavy hors d’oeuvres provided by celebrity chef, Maxcel Hardy! All proceeds benefit the extraordinary programs at Vista Maria including our growing Foster Care program. Each guest is encouraged to bring a toy, doll, action figure, or game for a child on our holiday wish list.
This event relies heavily on volunteers to ensure it is successful! This is a great way to support Vista Maria and our foster families, while helping to put on a fantastic event. I hope you can join us and help out!
1pm - 4pm: Set Up (6 volunteers)
- Includes setting up tables in the lobby, linens, candles, table tents, banners, balloons, etc.
4pm - 8:30pm: Event (14 volunteers)
- Registration: Help giving wrist bands to VIPs, help guests find their name tags, general helpfulness (3 volunteers)
- Wine Pull: Hang out by the wine-pull table, sell raffle tickets, and pull wine! (3 volunteers)
- Raffle Ticket Sales: Roaming with iPads to sell raffle tickets. Will work in pairs. (4 volunteers)
- Toy Runners: Taking toy donations from the registration area to the stage (4 volunteers)
- Includes clean up, taking down decor, packing up toys, loading out supplies, carrying everything out of the venue
- It's VERY unlikely this will take 2 hours. If a few Event volunteers can sign up for this shift as well, that would cover it and we'll get everything done quickly!
Other Info:
- We'll have a virtual Volunteer Orientation on Monday, October 18 @ 5:30 pm. (I'll send an invite after you sign up to volunteer)
- Attire is smart casual. This event is outdoors (in October in Michigan!), so please dress for the weather.
- This is a great opportunity for groups, and college students!
- Volunteers must wear masks throughout the entire event, regardless of vaccination status. Vista Maria staff will be masked as well.
- Snacks and water will be provided for volunteers on all 3 shifts
- Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Those selling raffle tickets must be 18, and volunteers staffing the wine pull must be 21.

Mission Statement
Vista Maria is a place for girls, youth and their families to realize a life beyond trauma and ignite a life of possibility. We are fearless in our commitment to keep them safe and to make them strong and our courageous compassion finds new ways to bring wholeness and possibility to those who need it most.
Description
We are Vista Maria.
We are driven by courage, love and vision to help others realize a life beyond trauma and ignite a life of possibility. Our courageous action is driven by our boundless compassion for our young people and their families. Every day, Vista Maria brings strength and caring enough for everyone, so that one day each person can do the same for themselves and others.
We know that it takes a Fearless Heart to overcome the challenges of abuse and trauma and move forward. An unwavering courage, limitless love and positive vision that was embodied in 1883 by our founder, Sister Mary Euphrasia and carried on today by each one of us. What began as a home for girls and women in need has evolved to encompass mental health services, education and after school care, foster care, adoption, independent living, secure care for the survivors of human trafficking, and advocacy for the welfare of children.
We’re visionary in our approach and unrelenting in our quest to provide the best care and support for vulnerable children and families. Our boundless belief in every person’s worth propels us to action, pursuing new ways to serve our community.
We invite anyone with courage, love and vision to join us and ignite a life of possibility.
