The Alzheimer’s Association National Capital Area Chapter is seeking volunteers or interns with event planning/coordinator experience to support our mission: leading the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. The primary way to advance our mission is through fundraising efforts. Our local Chapter manages and produces several events, including our most well-known Walk to End Alzheimer's (fall events September-November), as well as our Brain Ball Gala (May 2022), Ride to End ALZ (May 2022), RivALZ (a flag football game in June 2022) and several other events.
If you are interested in gaining hands-on experience in the non-profit sector and in event planning and execution, please reach out to Carrie Myatt at cemyatt@alz.org or 703-766-9031. Planning committees for each event meets once a month. Time commitment can vary from 3 hours a month to a few hours a week.
If you have any questions or interest, please reach out. Thank you!
