Are you passionate about yoga? The National Capital Area Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association is looking for volunteers to help us with our national signature event, The Longest Day. We are looking for assistance with recruiting yoga and pilates instructors to join our fundraising efforts. If you are a teacher and want to host a charity class, please respond! What's good for your heart, is good for your brain. Help us raise funds and awareness for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. The benefits of yoga are great for everyone, helpful in lowering the risk and important for supporting caregivers during their difficult journey. International Yoga Day also happens to fall on The Longest Day, the summer solstice, June 21, 2023. But classes benefiting the campaign can happen year round. Consider using your passion for yoga as a way to raise awareness and funds for the 6th leading cause of death in the US. Every participant, every class, and every one can make an impact in the fight to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia. We NEED everyone to get in the fight. Learn more at www.alz.org/thelongestday and please contact me directly. Thank you! Carrie

Are you a passionate endurance athlete? The National Capital Area Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association is looking for athletes to raise awareness and fundraise of this devastating disease. We are looking for athletes who want to ADD MEANING TO YOUR MILES. For this campaign the fundraising minimum is $20, includes a T-shirt. We would love to cheer you on for an upcoming Ironman, Marathon, Triathlon or 5K. We are also considering rejoining the Marine Corps Marathon Charity program. This would vary from the first option and include a higher fundraising minimum, but only slightly We'd love to hear from you if you are interested. Currently we are recruiting runners who have already registered for the Marine Corps weekend. We'll be organizing local training runs and socials and officially kicking off September 1st. What's good for your heart is good for your brain. Physical activity is crucial to overall health. So while you are challenging yourself physically and mentally to complete some amazing races, please consider adding the charity component and honoring a loved one, the 6.2 million Americans currently living with the disease or the more than 11 million Americans who serve as unpaid caregivers. Your next race could make a huge IMPACT on their lives. Together, we will raise funds and awareness for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. Please join us today!
