Job Description
The Parkinson's Foundation Minnesota & Dakotas Chapter is looking for interested individuals to serve on our regional Advisory Board. The Regional Advisory Board is a fund- and awareness-raising volunteer board of diverse professionals committed to growing our Chapter network and helping raise funds--so that we can serve more people living with Parkinson's disease, their care-partners, clinicians, and supportive professionals. The Parkinson's Foundation is an established national nonprofit with an annual budget of $38M. Seventeen chapters across the country support initiatives on the ground while helping strategize program, research and grant-making. The Minnesota and Dakotas Chapter Board will help us grow to reach all 20,000+ individuals living with PD in our 3-state area. The full Board meets virtually &/or in person (Twin Cities) 6 times/ year and committees of the board meet as needed. Board members take on individual and project-based work depending on their skills, interests, and networks/ industries. A modest personal financial contribution as well as a commitment to active fundraising is expected. The Chapter is responsible for about $500K in annual revenue through regional fundraising events and donations. The Parkinson's community is an inspiring and strong one, and our National Board and regional staff and volunteers are truly supportive.
