We are so excited to announce the 3rd Science of Sport Charity Golf Tournament in Arizona!
Science of Sport is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that develops curriculum and provides professional development opportunities to teachers and events and programs to students across the country. Using sports as an example, the Science of Sport curriculum engages teachers and students in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) concepts using real-life applications and hands-on learning.
Science of Sport relies on volunteers and funding in order to provide these educational opportunities across the nation FREE OF CHARGE to teachers and students who would otherwise not have access! Contributions from this event allow us to fund our mission to provide a research-based curriculum that engages and empowers students.
For this event, we are looking for volunteers who can assist with the following:
Event Set Up
Registration and Check-In of Golfers
Assist with Interactive Activities on the course
Event Clean Up
For the interactive activities you do not have to have extensive knowledge of math or science concepts, but an interest in sports will be helpful. If you can volunteer your time for this day in one or more of the shifts listed, please sign up! This is a great opportunity to network with Science of Sport and members of the community and help teachers and students receive access to our various STEM programs!
Thank you so much and our team looks forward to meeting you!

About SCIENCE OF SPORT
55 E CALLE BELLEZA, TUCSON, AZ 85716, US
The Science of Sport is a non-profit foundation dedicated to developing curriculum and programming that promotes Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Our programs are designed to bring math and science to life through hands-on learning by providing engaging programs for students and teachers.
Our curricula are designed as in-school exercises that can be delivered by teachers or as after school programs that can be delivered by parents, coaches, and volunteers. The focus on elementary and middle school students is motivated by the fact that these age groups can still be influenced to make academic choices that will help them transition from primary to secondary education.
The Science of Sport provides detailed and engaging curriculum that focuses on the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). We do this by taking all the fun and interesting topics about the different sports and make it a hands-on learning experience for the teachers and students. Our goal is to translate the love of each sport into an appreciation, understanding, and passion of the science and mathematics underlying the sport. Through this approach, we aim to empower students who may be underperforming academically by relating core curriculum topics to their athletic strengths, capabilities, and interests. These lessons can be implemented into an after school program or a supplement to classroom activities.
The Science of Sport has four main objectives for this curriculum:
- Increase student awareness of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields as a future education and career option.
- Motivate students to excel despite obstacles.
- Provide a measurable opportunity for individual transformation.
- Establish a framework for sustainable change.
