Kaiser Permanente seeks volunteers to assist patients as they arrive and navigate Urgent Care services at our Interstate medical office campus in North Portland.

In our Urgent Care clinics, patients are often experiencing higher amounts of stress and discomfort. We are seeking volunteers who can create welcoming, compassionate, supportive environments for individuals seeking urgent care. Volunteer shifts are 4 hours, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. Common tasks include pushing wheelchairs, offering comfort items, communication with front office and clinical staff, or simply offering a listening ear to a patient in need.

This is a great role for students seeking experience in health care setting and an opportunity to directly interact with patients and assist in their care experience. In addition, kind-hearted, patient community members who can provide compassionate support patients experience discomfort and pain.

All volunteers receive training for HIPAA, safety, and behavior, in addition to PPE gear and additional information for COVID safety in our facilities.
