In our Urgent Care clinics, patients are often experiencing higher amounts of stress and discomfort. We are seeking volunteers who can create welcoming, compassionate, supportive environments for individuals seeking urgent care. We are specifically seeking daytime volunteers to assist patients and they arrive and navigate the facility. Current shifts are between 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday with weekend opportunities available. This is a non-clinical volunteer role, focusing on the social side of healthcare and how your kind, helpful presence provides a meaningful impact on care experience. Common tasks include offering comfort items, lending a listening ear, assisting with wheelchair escorts, answering common questions, or communicating needs to our clinical teams. Volunteers must be able to volunteer at least one 4 hour shift a week for 6 months. If you are seeking experience, want to give back to your community, use your skills, or join a highly social environment, we want to hear from you! No experience necessary, ages 16 and up. Be a part of our Volunteer Team with Kaiser Permanente! We are seeking volunteers to help our staff and patients within our Primary Care clinic in Hillsboro. This is a fast-paced environment with services in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Pediatrics, Nurse Treatment, Imaging and more. Volunteers gain experience and connections across the entire clinic while also giving back to others and improving their overall care experience. Volunteers interact directly with patients as they arrive for their appointments, helping them find where they need to go, answering questions about the clinic, pushing wheelchairs, or offering comfort items like water, blankets, etc. At times, volunteers work with staff to communicate emerging needs or complete small projects and seasonal clinic needs like assembling educational packets. Successful volunteers are social, caring, and good at interacting with people who are different than them. We provide training and supervision for all assigned tasks.
