Become a weekly volunteer tutor with Tutoring Chicago and work one-to-one with a 1st-6th grade student at our West Loop site. Volunteer tutors provide academic support and serve as a role model and mentor to students from across the city. You and your student will focus on mathematics, reading, the importance of accountability, and more! No prior teaching experience is required, orientation and training are provided. Tutoring sessions take place Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings from 6-7:30PM at Hope Learning Academy in the West Loop neighborhood. Become a tutor and make a difference in a student's life today!
Life-changing role models needed!
Tutoring Chicago is a free one-to-one tutoring program for students in grades 1-10.
During the 2023-2024 school year, Tutoring Chicago will offer both in-person and digital tutoring options to our tutors/students from late September to late May.
No special skills, no experience or background in education is necessary. Above all the willingness to be there and the desire to impact, inspire and empower a student. Being present is all it takes. One and a half hours per week is enough to change a kid's life.

- A diverse representation of supportive adults who know them as individuals, value their needs and aspirations, and expose pathways for their success
- Abundant exposure to knowledge, effective instruction, high quality resources, and critical technology
- A secure sense of belonging and community that contributes to a healthy growth mindset
- Accessible learning environments where role models are plentiful and a positive relationship with learning is encouraged
