No special skills, no experience or background in education is necessary. Above all the willingness to be there and the desire to impact, inspire and empower a student. Being present is all it takes. Volunteer tutors needed for a children's program in Lincoln Pk, Logan Sq, West Loop, and Southside

Flexible Schedule | Chicago, IL 60614

Become a weekly volunteer tutor with Tutoring Chicago and work one-to-one with a 1st-12th grade student at our Lincoln Park, Logan Square, West Loop or South side site. Tutoring sessions take place Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings from 6-7:30PM (1 day of your choice). Life-changing role models needed. Tutoring Chicago is a free one-to-one tutoring program for students in grades 1-10. During the 2024-2025 school year, Tutoring Chicago will offer both in-person and digital tutoring options to our tutors/students from late September to late May. No special skills, no experience or background in education is necessary. Above all the willingness to be there and the desire to impact, inspire and empower a student. Being present is all it takes. Remote volunteer tutors needed for this school year

Flexible Schedule | Virtual Opportunity

Become a volunteer tutor with Tutoring Chicago and work one-to-one with a 1st-12th grade student on a weekly basis this school year. Tutors will focus on preparing students for the transition into high school through academic support, social-emotional learning, and the importance of accountability. No prior teaching experience is necessary, orientation and training are provided to all volunteers. All tutoring will take place remotely online through the Zoom platform. Digital tutoring sessions are held Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings from 6-7:30PM (CST). Become a tutor and make a difference in a student's life today! Life-changing role models needed! For over 57 years Tutoring Chicago has dedicated its mission to delivering the power of education to children facing economic barriers through one-to-one tutoring and high-quality programming that is not only academic, but developmental and reflective. Our vision is a brighter future for all of Chicago’s children.

Tutoring Chicago's programs take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 6-7:30pm, in-person or virtually. Tutors and students meet one night per week to review homework and work on reading, writing, math, and life skills.

Chicagoland students need great tutors like you, now more than ever! We welcome you to join our growing volunteer team for the 2023-2024 school year!

It’s well organized and does a great job breaking down what’s expected of you. You have easy access to whatever you need to work with your student and response time to questions is pretty immediate.

Tutoring Chicago is a great organization. I've been volunteering with them for almost a year. The program has improved even from last year, which a tell-tale sign of an organization that wants to grow and improve. If you're open to work with kids in this age range, I think this is the perfect program to do so.

Very friendly and helpful group of people. It was nice to be able to work with the children they tutored and the families of those children and see the special attention that each tutor gave the children. They all seemed to have a very nice bond.

I Would like to keep kids like my self off the streets and i have nothing else to do over the summer.And most kids that dont have anything to do end up being on the streets gang banging and end up getting killed and i dont want to be the one doing any of that.It wont only keep me off the streets it would keep me out the house.My mom wouldnt have nothing to worry aboout because she would know where im at.I love working with other kids so it wont be a problem for me because im a nice person and i can work as long as you need me to.I will always be on time so thats no worry.Thats all for now you can get to know some more about me if i get the job.I Wish My Self The Best Of Luck....
